Free Tunes Tuesday: Ottawa
We love spreading the word about the music we’re into, both new and old. And we think we do pretty darn good job between booking shows, writing features on artists, and letting you know about upcoming events. With this weekly series, we aim to deliver new/current music to you in a quick, consumable way. Every Tuesday, we’ll share some new music with you! Free Tunes Tuesday features more than just artists/bands with ties to Cellar Door, it’s a megaphone for whatever we’re hearing out there that we think should be heard more.

After their CD release show at the Beachland on Friday, December 5, Cleveland’s own Ottawa has officially released their debut album, “Random Lights”. The 5 piece band consists of singer Dale DeLong, guitarists Will Hooper and Tim Czajka, bassist Chris Williams and drummer Steve Crobar.
Random Lights by Ottawa carries the listener through a multitude of sounds from the pop-beat infused “Random Lights” to the lo-fi garage rock “Lie to Me”. DeLong’s vocals matches each song and carries a unique range from honeyed crooning in “The Good Kind” to a husky, come hither tone as sung in “Dodge City”.
It’s refreshing to hear a new sound coming out of Cleveland from a band with such passion and dedication as these guys. Stay tuned to their webpage (listentoottawa.com) for future tour dates. You’ll definitely want to catch them so you can say “I saw them when they were playing smaller venues.”
