This stellar lineup of Clevelanders will lure you in with Herzog, whose new album Boys is one of the best of the year, and then hook you with Shale Satans, and Ma Holos, both of whom saw the release of new cassettes this year. Queen Buzz is a glam/garage/post-punk outfit from Chicago who are on tour. Hopefully they like us locals!

Three local bands unite to play an all ages show for the holiday season. Archie & The Bunkers are the next big thing on my radar. Mexican Coke, also from Cleveland will headline the night and bring some rock n’ roll swagger into the mix.

Batman Returns

Capitol Theatre
1390 W 65th St.
12:00 a.m./ $5
Facebook Event

Tim Burton’s Batman movie will screen as a part of the late night shift movie series at Capitol this weekend. The historic theatre will throw it back to 1992 with some of the best characters from the Batman series, starring Michael Keaton as Batman, Michelle Pfeifer as Cat Woman, and Danny DiVito (long before his role as Always Sunny’s Frank) as The Penguin. DiVito is so gross in this movie it may make you a little sick, especially if you hate fish.

Browns @ Panthers

Now That’s Class
11213 Detroit Ave.
12:00 p.m./ FREE
Website

I can’t imagine watching a Browns Game and not being at Now That’s Class. That may say something about my involvement with Cleveland sports, but in my book, watching the game on their 10 ft. screen, Bloody Mary in hand at noon just can’t be beat. Larry Margaritas will be provided for each touchdown, so get there early.

Koji’s 2013 album Crooked in My Mind out on Run For Cover Records is a wonderful collection of pop-punk infused, acoustic, mindfully written songs and melodies. He plays at Mahall’s with Akron’s Annabel and Empire! Empire! Both supporting bands craft melodic tunes with sad lyrics and a DIY flair.

Cleveland legends Mirrors will play with Home & Garden and Nick Riley All Stars. Mirrors were active in Cleveland during the early 1970’s in Cleveland’s pre-punk underground scene and recently reunited to co-headline WRUW’s Studio-A-Rama. The show serves as a kooky Christmas party for Cleveland’s old school music scene to come together, reminisce, and throw back a couple of drinks.
