Megan Zurkey Releases New Single, Announces New Album and Release Show
CLEVELAND – April 21, 2015 – Today, Cleveland singer/songwriter Megan Zurkey released “All My Life,” the first single from her new EP, “Behind Your Eyes.” The EP will be released on May 15 at The Happy Dog with a performance from Megan Zurkey and her band, as well as support from Top Hat Black and the Ohio Weather Band.
Recorded in January of 2015 with drummer Ken Schopf, Zach Catania on guitar and Don T. Day on bass, “Behind Your Eyes” features 4 new original songs and a cover of Miranda Lambert’s “Fastest Girl In Town.” The EP was recorded with Keifer Wiley and mastered by Adam Grover from Georgetown Masters in Nashville.
In the past year or so since her last release, Zurkey has graced stages across the city from the Beachland to the Alex Theater to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She’s performed at Brite Winter, the Heights Music Hop, and Burning River Fest as well as performed the national anthem at a Cleveland Indians game at Progressive Field.
“I loved promoting ‘Questions and Answers’ all year after its release last January,” Said Megan. “But I’m always working on new material and I’m ALWAYS itching to get back into the studio. So in the dead of winter, we wrote, rehearsed and recorded a whole new batch of songs!”
With “Behind Your Eyes”, Zurkey reached out to collaborate with friends within the local music community- the album photography was done by artist/musician Jenna Fournier from Nights, and Cellar Door’s Justin Markert did the layout and design and is handling some promotion.
Advance album streams available by request.
